For Presbyter-in-Charge Rev. G. Wilson, the congregation at St. John’s Church is no stranger, having been here as Assistant Presbyter from 1993-95. Among the other churches that Rev Wilson has served are My Redeemer’s Church, KGF, Wesley Tamil Church, Ashoknagar, All Saints Church, Good Shepherd Church Yelahanka, Bishop Sargent Church, DevakirubaiAlayamDasarahalli, and St. Luke’s Church, Chamarajpet.
Rev. Wilson is married to Yessumonie, who has done her B.A., B.R.E. (Christian Education at UBS, Maharashtra) and B.Ed. in Bangalore. They have two sons — Ashish, who has completed his M.Com. from Christ University and Abhishek in his second pre-university at St. Joseph’s.
Rev. Wilson hails from Kolar Gold Fields. His father is Mr.Gnanamuthu and his mother is Mrs. Siron Mani. He had his early childhood education at KGF and then went to Voorhees College in Vellore and did his B.A. in Economics. He joined the Union Biblical Seminary in Maharashtra for his degree in Theology. In 2003-04, he secured a Masters in Theology in Taiwan.
After completing his theological studies, Rev. Wilson joined the diocese in 1979 and worked under the supervision of Rev. Vinay Kumar Samuel for six months. He then taught at the Hindustan Bible Institute and College. He joined Mr. Vishal Mangawadi, author and social activist in Madhya Pradesh, and worked with the Association for Comprehensive Rural Assistance for three years. On his return to the Diocese, Rev. Wilson was Missionary with the Gubbi Missions till hewas ordained in 1986.
